Certified Products Only Please!
Discovering new, innovative CBD products is what makes us tick. The astounding how many imaginative products are popping up; CBD chewing gum, olive oil and eye masks are the sort of products which we love to share with our customer base. However, every product included in our boxes must come with a laboratory certificate which confirms that it has been rigorously tested for its levels of CBD and THC. The strength of CBD levels on the label mustbe proven via the certificates provided. A 2019 study by the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis (CMC) randomly selected 30 CBD oil products from online and high street stores, with the aim of assessing the quality of CBD available to the public. The results revealed that the CBD oils varied in quality. More than 60% of the products did not have the advertised CBD content including 8 products that had more than the stated amount of CBD. 38% of the tested products had less than half of their claimed cannabidiol amount. One product – purchased from a High Street pharmacy – did not contain any CBD. It is of the highest importance to us that the type and level of CBD contained in the products we share with our audience is as advertised on the label of the product themselves. Our rules are simple. ‘No lab certs = we can’t use the product’. Additionally, if the certificates conflict with the product contents displayed on the label, we will not include the product in our boxes.
The other finding of the study was that almost half of the products tested (45%) contained a measurable amount of THC or CBN that was above the permitted threshold. UK CBD products cannot contain over 0.2% THC. Once again, if a product’s certification does not affirm that a product’s THC level is under this threshold, we politely refuse to include it in our boxes.
We Test Every. Single. Product.
It is not enough for us to just see the certs. The Serenity Box Co team thoroughly tests every product against its claimed therapeutic benefits.
